More Gelli

Here is the second lot of  Gelli print journals I have been covering.

Some are ruled for writing, some plain for drawing, or even are art
paper inside.

I purchase carefully, raw card is best, some softer covers become
more substantial when covered and glued.

If they have coloured inside cover pages that is nicer. I try to avoid
plastic product covers because then I have to use super glue, or
contact cement. Too messy.

I did however, want to include my illo on one. That did require the
tougher bond. I'm playing with all sorts of combos of colour and
texture.

I have since drawn in detail on the epear, it looks much better. Pic to come.

This has a little wooden detail. Just experimenting.

This is a new book, pear detail with feather, and the drawn in pear detail.

Silver, real feather prints. This art paper book is winging it's way
to Darwin, a gift for a friend's birthday.

The back of the book is important too, I try to wrap around the print. I have my
artist's signature here, and relevant details about the paper.
Silver, and black and red together are nice.

The first book, and now my illo from the 70s? on one.

Back of books detail, description of construction, and email contact.

Gelli printing and pears

I think I may become the 'Andy Warhol' of pear art.

This colourful and repetitious sequence is quite psychedelic baby!

Gelatine plate printing, with combing, texture added and penwork.
No two exactly the same.

 First create printed papers.

Then stencil a metallic gold pear shape.

Finally, black penwork is hand drawn in.

Melbourne Art

There is so much to see and do on a colourful, creative theme
in Melbourne.

These shots are with my girl Sam.

Art covered journals

I have heaps of yummy Gelli prints, so what to do with them?

Of course I love collage too. So for the markets I made some
covered journals and little notebooks.

Each one is different. Some drawn in detail too. Printed from
real leaves and feathers.

Perfecting the pear

I'm hoping a Gelli Plate workshop will go ahead.

It's on at the local craft store. A card making workshop using the
Gelli Plate and a stencil. Plus some nice metallic paint.

It took a while to make the sample. The cat ran over the table and
tried to sabotage it too.

Pics for the O.S. Print Exchange

We all have to have our pics taken for the print exchange with the U.K.

One of our group took my photos, because of course I can't take my own.
The concept I had was to take shots in the environs of the art centre.

I baggs my favourite and historic Lilly Pilly tree out the front. Yes I am
a tree hugger!

Animal art

Here is a selection of animal portraits, and other animal-based artwork.

The collages are compilations of the print group's work, and found items.

A real bird's nest in one.

Thanks to Helen Sillar for the wonderful bird prints.

Bowerbird experiments. My sketches.

The 'Indigo' exhibition, making an installation of blue.
Drypoint and collage. Hawkesbury pelican.
A rough for a children's book illustration - Little Marie and the white doves.

The background pic

This Blog background has to be tweaked. This is the picture used for it,
though that may change too.

It is from my Friday printmaking day and is a drypoint on paper that has
been prepared with watercolour first.

I have several versions of this same scene which I change by how I print it.

My art site.

This is a Blog about my creativity. It changes all the time.

I will display past and current works. Even items I produce for markets.

This picture is a pastel of the Hawkesbury River. It is based on one of
my photos of Brooklyn.
